On Friday night, we snuggled down to watch a cozy little movie -Revolutonary Road.  Well, it’s not so cozy and feel-good…haha, but it was a stellar story!  Without giving it away, it’s about a couple who is stricken with boredom of their “regular” lives.  They had dreams that they let die when they began to have children.  It’s about their rebutal to giving up and settling down.  I don’t want to give it away, so I’ll stop there.

It hit me last night, while talking to my great friend who was letting me go off on some sort of preacher-like tangent, that maybe Americans equate success with safety, and even Christian views with Conservatism.  That “need to follow the mold, settle down, get a two-storied house, have 2.5 kids, stay seated for the rest of your life”…may not be what God has in mind for you.  Even if He intends for you to have a family, are you really suppose to take a bow out of living?  Don’t mistake me - I am NOT saying that staying at home, loving your children, and taking care of your family is bowing out!  That is exactly WHAT some of us have been called to do.  If that’s the case, glory in it!!  However, if there were additional dreams in your heart, why should they end? You may be doing the world a great injustice by…not doing.

Love yourself, love your kids, love the one who gave you life..LIVE it.
